Speech

Speech disorders can affect just about anybody, but are primarily seen in children. Vox specializes in the evaluation and treatment of speech sound and phonological disorders.

Language

Language disorders center around what we are able to understand (receptive language) and how we communicate our thoughts, feelings, and ideas (expressive language). Vox offers evaluation and treatment of language-based disorders in children and adults.

Voice

Voice disorders impact both children and adults. Vox specializes in the evaluation and treatment of a variety of voice disorders, including (but not limited to) dysphonia, paradoxical vocal fold movement (PVFM), vocal nodules, and general hoarseness. Vox also specializes in gender-affirming voice care.

Swallowing

Swallowing disorders, or dysphagia, may impact both children and adults but are primarily seen in adults. Vox specializes in the evaluation and treatment of swallowing disorders.

Stuttering

Fluency disorders, such as stuttering, can impact both children and adults and are characterized by interruptions in the flow of speaking. Vox offers evaluation and treatment of fluency disorders.

AAC

Augmentative and alternative communication, more commonly known as AAC, are communication forms other than verbal speech that people use to communicate. This may take on the form of low-tech (e.g. communication boards) or high-tech (e.g. iPad/computer based communication) options. Vox specializes in identifying AAC communication forms for individuals and therapy centered around training and functional use.


About Jordan

Jordan Blazovich is an ASHA-certified speech-language pathologist based out of Salt Lake City, UT. Jordan graduated from the University of Utah with a Masters of Science degree in speech-language pathology in 2020. During his time in graduate school and medical rotations, Jordan focused his clinical experience on voice and swallowing disorders, focusing on gender-affirming voice care and is an LGBTQ+ friendly clinician. Since September 2020, Jordan has worked as a speech-language pathologist in Jordan School District and serves as a team lead for special education and related services, as well as a member of the Utah Assistive Technology Team specializing in AAC.

Prior to working in schools, Jordan worked in private practice as a speech-language pathologist based in Las Vegas, NV.
